9 Festive Activities for December
Okay, so maybe some of us were too busy to do all the “spooky activities” this past October. Maybe we didn’t make time to get a costume together or go to a pumpkin patch. Sure, we missed out on a lot, but there’s no need to worry because December is here!!! Now is the time to go out and have fun with family and friends!
I know a lot of time is spent at home, the kids complaining, the teens diving deep into Tiktok and Twitter, the adults stressing over the holiday-money-spending, and so much more but hey! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! There are so many things to do inside and outside of the house, you just need to know what to do, here are just a few ideas.
Find a Cozy Cute Cafe - Look up some local shops where you can get cozy and get that perfect picture, take a look at Usually these places are super aesthetically pleasing if you’re into that, but really who isn’t! Get your fancy fur coat on, get that makeup done, and go explore a new menu!
Track Down Christmas Lights - I speak from experience when I tell you that driving around neighborhoods and looking at the amazing decorations people put up while you drink your peppermint mocha with your family or best friends in the car, is one of the greatest simple feelings ever. It’s just one of those things that makes your heart warm. You get to feel the holiday spirit on another level! People don't decorate their houses like this for no one to look I'll tell you that much!
Visit an Amusement Park - If you’re looking to do something on the next level, this one is it folks! If you live near them, or if you’re ready to travel, this is honestly a great investment. I could go on for hours about how magical Disneyland is during this time of year, but if that’s not your cup of tea, Universal Studios has Grinchmas! I’ve gone to Grinchmas nearly every year for the past four years and every year has been better than the last!
Attempt the Wonders of Ice Skating - Okay, I can’t lie and say I know how to ice skate because I don’t and I probably won’t ever know how but that’s fine! I’ve only ever gone once and I have terrible coordination so I couldn’t get the hang of it, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a go! Get your friends together and push them to try it out!
Spread Holiday Cheer - Holiday cheer is so much more than we know! You should be kind to others year-round but the Holidays are the perfect time to be even kinder! Do something nice like paying for the order behind you in the drive-thru, volunteering at a local shelter, helping clean up your city, or even something as simple as making cookies for your friends and family!
Make Your Own Ornaments - Christmas trees are very important, of course, but what’s even more important is how you decorate them. Head over to an arts & crafts store, or any store that sells construction paper and paint, and stock up on everything you need to make your own ornaments! And if you're not that great of an artist, a nice printed image glued onto construction paper works too! You can even make them to your own theme… homemade baby Yoda ornaments? I think yes!
Binge Christmas Movies - Get together with your friends once a week and watch the Christmas Classics! Make pizza together, buy some snacks, bring the hot cocoa, wear your pajamas and spend the evening laughing and crying together! It’s a great way to make memories and spend time with your loved ones!
